1. Due to microphone limitations on different devices the meter range is different, usually the low end of the scale cannot be achieved because of the microphone noise and the upper end of the scale is limited by the microphone distortion on high levels.
2. Devices employing AGC (Automatic Gain Control) that cannot be automatically disabled by this app will have significant measurement errors and limited range. This is not app's fault.
3. If you have measuring problems or doesn't work at all, try to disable "Use high sampling rate" in settings, restart the device and recalibrate.
4. Calibration procedure and other information can be found here:

Another great app! Accurate compared to $200 digital meter, great to have on my ohone. Reviewer who complained it did not accurately show "500 dB" is an idiot, atomic bombs aren't that loud, read a book...
Wrong values with 10db Not logical to have sound scale instrument yo calibrate this application. It should know our device and predefined. Values...
Best one of da Best ...... E ta Purany jmany de yaad Kara Deda Va ... Jadoo Tyvarkta Hondeeaaa San..
Works Great Being the sound man, i use it to make sure the sound isn't to loud at Church
Love A good thing is always good
What a shame. I think it measures with a good range, but its no use because the readings are not recorded in a graph. The measurements are there and gone in the blink of an eye.
Not very accurate This is not really accuate meter on a pro sound system in a show the meter peaks at 127db which was no where near where my sound levels are im around 500db please fix this problem
The best one I've tried.
Awesome I've been searching for an accurate db meter forever! Finally got one thanks!
Problem Calibrated at 70. Overestimated sounds at higher levels. Note 3
Great one that goes over 80db,as the rest stop around that range. Tested it out And it reached 110db very accurate on Guitar and music and all sounds around you, very nice app 5*****
No unneeded permissions. Simple app that does the job with a retro meter. Nice real feel to it. The top db meters ask for every permission under the sun, when I saw the single permission for this I had to download. And if you want to show the db level to somebody standing across from you, hit the little arrow button. So cool!
Great app I really like this app by setting the meter delay to half a second it really gives the feel of a VU meter. Just a shame it doesn't apply to the dB number in the middle. Needle movement rendering keeps fading parts of the needle.
Mr. Zahid Roowala Very handy tool for an engineer working in a holiday resort with lot of entertainment activities
Works well. Very sensitive Only wish it had a graph. But was amazed at how sensitive the db meter is. Nice job on the app.
Does what I need. And does it well. Goes over 80db. (Note 4)
Seems quite accurate, a bit glitchy Red needle graphics problem but needle draws perfectly when you flip the display upside down.
A lot better than anything I've found It works a lot better than some other db meters I've seen on the play store, not the most accurate, but after a little fiddling with the presets I got to +/- 5db of a properly calibrated meter. I just wish there was a SPL graph
Too sensitive Off by 5-10, reads higher too sensitive
Needle disappears The red needle disappears most of the time. Seems to be related to the streaming Google ads.
Ehh. Its okay, but good job working on it
Slick powerful sound meter. Highly recommended.
Inaccurate In a very noisy room where it registers over 100 then to a silent room where it was still over 80
Very sensitve and think it is quite accurate. Easy to read too. Nice app to keep on your phone.
The most accurate sound meter I have found. As s sound engineer I am very fussy when it comes to sound equipment. So this app is very surprising and accurate.
Not very accurate Sitting in a silent room with no sounds at all and I get a reading of 67db!!!!!!!!!!
sound meter great for motorcycle
Nail Simple and easy
So easy to use
Thanks alot.very good app:-)
Great I checked the app on diwali festival. Very good.
Micromax A116 Very nice please download it ..superb
A lot better than anything I've found It works a lot better than some other db meters I've seen on the play store, not the most accurate, but after a little fiddling with the presets I got to +/- 5db of a properly calibrated meter. I just wish there was a SPL graph. Calibration value for a xperia z3 is around 1.2
Best sound meter app
So far so good Set my TV to "acceptable" loudness. Edit- I burped... Registered 119 decibels
Asus zenfone 6 The needle disappears when the ad on the bottom appears, would love it if this app had a widget. Looks great but doesn't work for me.
Most neer to reality
New graphics are a visual regression. The meter needle, dial, and background are crisper, the touch animations have been improved and the graph is nice, but the new text font's type, size, color result in poor contrast making the values much harder to read.
Very simple to use!
I like this one
